Best Coarse Body Scrub

An amazing homemade scrub! It exfoliates perfectly, moisturizes wonderfully, and leaves a light film on the skin, making the body look nourished and well-cared-for. It doesn’t feel sticky. I don’t know about you women, but I’m addicted to scrubbing my body… 🙂 I was always looking for a coarse-grained product – unfortunately, none met my requirements. However, this homemade one is the best! 🙂

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup coarse Himalayan salt (or fine Himalayan salt or brown sugar)
  • 1 ½ – 2 tablespoons castor oil 
  • 1 tablespoon cold-pressed organic flaxseed oil (or avocado oil) 
  • 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oil 

Preparation method

  1. Lightly blend the coarse Himalayan salt in a coffee grinder or blender.
  2. Then mix all the ingredients in a jar. 
  3. Apply to slightly damp skin. Before applying, gently mix the scrub. Then, in circular motions (from feet towards the heart), gently massage and exfoliate dead skin cells. Do not scrub too hard to avoid irritating the skin.
  4. Rinse off and gently pat dry with a towel. Use this scrub at least once a week.

Castor Oil

  • Softens and moisturizes 
  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production (responsible for skin firmness and elasticity)

Cold-pressed Flaxseed Oil 

  • It is a powerful antioxidant  (slows down the aging process)
  • Contains vitamin E, known as the vitamin of youth 
  • Moisturizes and makes the skin more elastic 
  • Regenerates and nourishes 
  • Improves skin tone

A study was conducted where 13 women tested flaxseed oil on their skin for 12 days. Each participant reported similar final effects: their skin became smoother and more hydrated, while sensitivity to irritations and roughness decreased.
